NevDisc
Physical Media Service
Despite the digital world we live in, sometimes the situation calls for physical media. Say you're off grid, have limited internet access, or you just want that nostalgic feeling of getting off the couch and loading your favorite movie in the DVD player. Whatever the case, we've got you covered.
NevDisc offers physical DVD or Blu-ray copies of any film and select shows available on Nevflix.
In addition to the cost of the discs themselves, it also takes time and effort to find relevant additional media (such as special features, if requested), design the artwork that will be printed on the discs, and of course burn the discs.
Here's how the pricing shakes out:
$5 per DVD
$10 per Blu-ray
$25 per 4K Blu-ray
That being said, there is a $30 minimum per request to ensure efficiency and avoid a drip-facuet effect with the request process.
In addition to the discs themselves, you can also request DVD or Blu-ray sleeves to really round out the physical media experience. These are priced accordingly:
$2 extra per DVD case (black)
$4 extra per Blu-ray case (blue)
$5 extra per 4K UHD Blu-ray case (black)
The best part? You don't pay a dime for shipping, unless you request it be expedited.
Quality is based on the format and disc capacity. Here's how it breaks down:
DVD: limited to 480p SD quality & 4.5GB capacity
Blu-ray: limited to 1080p HD quality & 25GB capacity
4k Blu-ray: limited to 4K UHD quality & 99GB capacity
It's important to note that the capacity limitation, especially on DVD's, means that longer movies may be compressed more than shorter movies. Typically, 2.5hr movies and shorter will fit on a DVD without a noticeable quality loss (though still capped at 480p SD due to the format), but any longer and there might start to be some quality loss.
If you're a nerd and curious what disc formats we burn to:
DVD-R for DVD's
BD-R for Blu-ray's
BD-XL for 4K Blu-ray's
This will largely be determined on a case-by-case basis, but it ultimately comes down to disc capacity. DVD's can only hold 4.5GB of data and Blu-rays 25GB. This limits how many episodes of a TV show can fit on a single disc, resulting in shows with lots of episodes per season taking up a large number of disks.
A good rule of thumb when determining whether it's worth even requesting a show be burned to disc is: if the show itself is more than 6 seasons and each season consists of more than 10 episodes, your request will likely be denied.
Your request has to be manually reviewed. After it's reviewed you'll receive a response via the email address you provided with what has been approved, details on how to pay, and an explanation if any of your request was denied. Once you submit your payment, work will begin on burning your discs and you'll get an email update with an estimated timeline.
