The majority of new content and more and more of our existing catalog is available in 4K Ultra HD on Nevflix, offering the highest-resolution streaming experience.
For those that do NOT wish to stream in 4K or don’t have a 4K-capable device, depending on your home internet speed (see below) you may need to adjust one setting on your playback devices to avoid buffering issues.
For those that DO wish to stream in 4K, content will automatically play at the highest resolution, where available, when you hit play from the Home screen or library. Just make sure your quality settings are to maximum, and you're all set to watch in 4K automatically when available!
You can also always see what resolution any content is available in by selecting the item and looking for a resolution badge (SD, 480p, 720p, 1080p, 4K).
If you would like the ability to request specific movies or shows in 4K, please reach out to me directly. 4K requests will not be auto-accepted logistical purposes (not all movies are available in 4K).
Streaming 4K requires adequate internet speeds. Even with adequate speeds, high network traffic may result in buffering.
If you don’t know your internet speeds should go to speedtest.net from your phone or laptop connected to your home wifi. You may need to allow it access to your location (single-use), then tap the “go” button and let the test run. Your internet speed will be labeled “DOWNLOAD Mbps.”
30mbps or higher: There’s no further actions you need to take! If you’d like to stream in 4K just make sure your quality settings are set to maximum and you are good to go.
Less than 30mbps: Set your device to adjust quality automatically. This will set the quality of the content you’re streaming based on your internet speed.
If you’re unsure how to change these settings or encounter issues, contact me for assistance.
